JAKARTA, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- China's Chen Yufei lifted the women's singles trophy after defeating Thailand's Pitchamon Opatniput in the final of the 2026 Indonesia Masters at the Istora Senayan Sports Stadium here on Sunday.

The Olympic champion secured the BWF Super 500 title in straight games, 23-21, 21-13, displaying composure and sharp attacking play, particularly in the second game.

This victory marked Chen's second meeting with Pitchamon this month. In early January, Chen edged past the Thai teenager in three games at the opening round of the Malaysia Open.

Speaking after the match, Chen said she had largely maintained the lead but acknowledged some lapses that allowed her opponent to close the gap.

"I was mostly in front during the match, but I made a few mistakes, which made it more difficult," Chen said. "Still, I managed to hold on in the end and stayed decisive."

Speaking of the significance of the title, Chen said it had been her goal heading into the tournament. "I'm very happy to have achieved that goal," she added.

In the men's singles final, Indonesia's Alwi Farhan captured the gold medal after overpowering Thailand's Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul 21-5, 21-6 in a dominant performance.

The men's doubles title went to Malaysia's Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, who defeated Indonesia's Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin 21-19, 21-13.

Malaysia also claimed the women's doubles gold medal, with Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan awarded the title after their Japanese opponents withdrew from the final.

In mixed doubles, Malaysia's Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei clinched the gold medal by defeating Denmark's Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje in the final.
